I'm Marko, the co-founder and CIO of Vertrical GmbH, a truly remote-first company specialising in Digital Health and helping businesses deploy scalable and compliant software. I earned my masters in Software Engineering and spent the next ten years working in software development. In July 2020, two friends (Nils and Daniel) and I decided to found a company, Vertrical. Over the last year, we've grown from three employees in Germany to over 60 spread all around the world and have joined the AWS Partner Network (APN).
As CIO, I am able to use the technical skills I refined through the years and fine tuned as a developer over the last decade. In addition, I ensure Vertrical is staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies, so we can best help our clients. In addition to helping our clients be compliant and achieve their goals, a big part of my role and one of my greatest passions is working alongside my colleagues. With an entirely remote team, we stress the importance of communication, speaking up, and accepting ownership. We're also committed to creating a culture where our people feel accepted and are enthusiastic about what they're working on and who they're working with.
In my free time, I love outdoors, travelling, spending time with my girlfriend, friends and family and exploring different cultures. If you find yourself visiting Munich I'll probably be the guy to show you best breweries and biergartens in town. Of sports I play basketball and sometimes football, but I also do jogging and fitness and I'm also a big football fan and supporter of FC Bayern Munich, so watching football is also one of my passions.
